An English-speaking Muslim community serving Geneva & surrounding areas, supporting through Islamic education, meaningful discussions, and lasting friendships.
Geneva is one of the world's most international cities, home to families from many cultures, languages, and backgrounds. Yet for many English-speaking Muslim families, it can still be difficult to find Islamic learning and community activities that feel accessible, relevant, and welcoming. GESMA was created to help fill this gap.
We support Muslim children, youth, and families in Geneva and surrounding areas through structured Islamic education, guided discussions, family connection, and community activities, all in English.
Our aim is to help young Muslims strengthen their relationship with Allah, grow in Islamic knowledge and character, and feel confident in their Muslim identity. At the same time, we seek to foster mutual respect, tolerance, understanding, and peaceful coexistence within Geneva’s multicultural society, encouraging children and families to appreciate diversity and contribute positively to the wider community.
Join Our CommunityGESMA runs Islamic classes taught fully in English for children aged 6–14 every Friday evening at the Geneva Islamic Cultural Foundation (Chemin Colladon 34, 1209 Genève), plus a Youth Discussion Series for ages 15+. Yes. All classes, discussions, and learning activities are conducted in English, making them accessible to international and multicultural families.
Children aged 6–9 attend mixed classes. From ages 10–14, boys and girls learn in separate groups to provide an age-appropriate learning environment during the teenage years. For the Youth Discussion Series (ages 15+), brothers and sisters participate in the same session while remaining seated in separate areas, using an interactive, discussion-based format.
Our Islamic Studies programme follows the internationally recognised An-Nasihah Islamic Curriculum, combining Islamic beliefs, worship, Prophetic teachings, Seerah, Islamic history, character development, and daily conduct. The Youth Discussion Series draws on resources from Yaqeen Institute, Al-Nasihah's Living Islam series, and other carefully selected materials.
The Islamic Studies programme is held every Friday evening, for approximately two hours, at the Geneva Islamic Cultural Foundation (Chemin Colladon 34, 1209 Genève). As the start time can vary through the year, please contact us for the latest timing. The Youth Discussion Series is typically held twice a month. Please contact us for the latest schedule, venue details, and programme availability.
Simply get in touch through the contact form, WhatsApp, or email. We would be happy to answer your questions, discuss the most suitable programme for your child or family, and guide you through the enrolment process.
